Praxair gives SHS Robotics a big boost

The Sequim School Board on Feb. 2 accepted a $2,500 cash donation from Praxair, Inc., to benefit the Sequim High School Robotics Team.

The Sequim School Board on Feb. 2 accepted a $2,500 cash donation from Praxair, Inc., to benefit the Sequim High School Robotics Team.

Praxair, Inc., is an industrial machinery and equipment based in Danbury, Conn. Sequim resident Steve Gale is associated director of operations for Praxair and contacted his company’s Global Giving Program representatives about the SHS program.

“(That program) is very supportive of programs that teach STEM,” Gale said, referring to science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

In 2014, Praxair’s Global Giving Program contributed $6.6 million to promote educational opportunities, cultural diversity, access to health and environmental programs.
