What’s New at the Farmers Market: Join the festivities with Sequim Pride this Saturday!

Join us in celebrating Pride Month at the Sequim Farmers and Artisans Market on Saturday, June 17, in collaboration with Sequim Pride.

The day will commence with a reading by Clallam County Poet Laureate Jaiden Dokken at 9:30 a.m., followed by a series of festivities.

Enjoy Pride Flag giveaways by Sequim Pride and embark on a scavenger hunt that will take you on a journey throughout the market!

All people of all ages and backgrounds are invited to participate. In other words, we want you to talk to your neighbors and have a fun time together!

David Ham, a volunteer and representative for Sequim Pride, says, “Sequim Pride is a great event that brings the community together to support diversity and inclusion. I am proud to be a part of this group and to help promote acceptance and visibility for the LGBTQIA+ community in Sequim.”

Sequim Pride was founded by Michael Lowe, a S’Klallam Tribe Member and lifelong Sequim resident, and is organized by dedicated community volunteers. This community-driven organization has curated a range of celebratory events for the weekend in Sequim.

Festivities will kick off with a happy hour at Salty Girls on Thursday, June 15, and culminate in Pride Market Day on Saturday, June 17, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

The scavenger hunt is not only a fun collaboration between the two organizations but is also designed for community members to connect with other market-goers, vendors, and Sequim Pride volunteers. Starting the scavenger hunt at the Market Information booth, participants will explore various vendor booths in search of specific items. Those who successfully complete the hunt will be rewarded at the Sequim Pride booth!

As a helpful hint: Consider checking out Cookie Daughters, Wheatstalk Boutique and Joy Farm. They may be among those who have what you’re looking for.

‘This is a visionary endeavor that brings people together and celebrates the diversity of our community,” Ham says. “I hope that Pride Market day will become a tradition at the market for years to come, as a celebration of our community’s diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

We warmly invite you to join us this Saturday, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., for a day filled with camaraderie, unity and joy, as we celebrate together!
