ICE killings

As an RN that used to work in the ICU, I am thankful for the support of the American Nurses Association in condemning the murder of Alex Pretti, the Veterans Association RN that worked in the ICU in Minneapolis and died at the hands of federal agents when he was trying to assist a woman being pepper sprayed. He was shot multiple times. He was an honorable man, not a terrorist. The lies surrounding his and Renee Good’s murders sicken me. Over 31 people have died in the past year in ICE custody.

Having six family members that work in law enforcement, I know that this is not how professional officers are trained to respond to peaceful protesters. Lethal force is avoided at all costs.

The Republicans in Congress are acting like they are impotent. They are allowing this to occur. What can you do? Listen to multiple news sources, including Canada and Europe. This administration is lying and skewing the facts. I’ve written and called our representatives multiple times. I’ve put the pictures of the people murdered by ICE in my front window with a distress flag upside down. Make people aware. And peacefully protest. Vote early at the midterms so your vote is counted. Use the drop boxes if you don’t vote early since postmarks have been intentionally delayed by up to a week.

America is not at a great point in history right now but we can improve it. We are all interconnected, not isolationists. Please do your part and take action.
