2022 Battle of the Books set

The North Olympic Library System (NOLS) is hosting the 2022 Battle of the Books, a collaborative project between libraries and schools and homeschool students in Clallam County.

Starting in February, library staff will hold monthly book chats with fourth-grade students, including an afterschool discussion group via Zoom. Participants receive free copies of the three books to keep.

Applications will be available from fourth-grade teachers, online at nols.org and NOLS branches; applications are due Tuesday, Feb. 1.

Students will read the following titles during the Battle of the Books program: February, “Stella Díaz Has Something to Say” by Angela Dominguez; March, “Dragons in a Bag” by Zetta Elliott; and, April, “The Cardboard Kingdom” by Chad Sell.

A final trivia competition will be held on Zoom on Friday, April 29 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
