‘Hello Lonesome’ screens at PC

Peninsula College’s Magic of Cinema Film Series screens an audience favorite from the 2011 Port Townsend Film Festival, Adam Reid’s "Hello Lonesome," at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, in Maier Performance Hall on the main campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd. Admission to the film is $5 general, Peninsula College students free with a current student ID.

Stickshift Annie headlines dance

The nonprofit Olympic Peninsula Dance hosts a dance with Stickshift Annie and Kimball & the Fugitives at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the Elks Club, 555 Otto St., Port Angeles. Admission is $15. A beginning cha-cha lesson (no partner needed) is free with admission at 7 p.m.

Audition for ‘Little Shop of Horrors’

Olympic Theatre Arts holds auditions for "Little Shop of Horrors" at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20; and at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at 414 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim. The cast includes four men and four women. Bring a prepared song; an accompanist is provided. The show runs weekends Feb. 8-24. Call OTA at 683-7326.

Show spotlights wild mushrooms

The Olympic Peninsula Mushroom Society hosts a free Wild Mushroom Show from noon-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at the Sequim Elks Lodge, 143 Port Williams Road. In addition to displays of wild mushrooms, experts will be on hand to answer questions and identify mushrooms brought in.

‘Scott Pilgrim’ is free teen movie

"Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" hits the screen at the free Teen Friday Movie at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave. Rated PG-13, the film is based on the series of graphic novels by the same name.

Centennial Kick-off Pancake Breakfast

The Sequim Centennial kicks off with a pancake breakfast from 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children.

Fine Arts Center’s annual benefit has ‘Artitude’

The Port Angeles Fine Arts Center hosts its annual benefit, "Our New Artitude," from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Port Angeles Masonic Lodge, 622 S. Lincoln St. The event includes cuisine by Oven Spoonful, Latin Jazz by Malo Combo, and silent and live auctions.

Tickets, $75, are available online at pafac.org or by phone at 457-3532.

PAFAC is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit; funds will support the free arts center and sculpture park, along with arts programs and classes.

 

P.C. holds Greek Taverna Night

Peninsula College, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles, hosts a Greek Taverna Night fundraiser at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Pirate Union Building. After a Greek family style meal, the Radost Folk Ensemble and the Bokreta Hungarian Dance Ensemble perform at the Little Theater.
