Button contest winner x2

Mason Blake, a third-grade student at Olympic Peninsula Academy and — for the second consecutive year, Irrigation Festival Button Design Contest winner — is congratulated by contest sponsor Liz Parks on June 14.

Blake, whose grandfather Jamie designed the festival’s buttons in 1983 and 1984, got the idea of this year’s winning design featuring the the water tower near Port Williams Road when he found out his grandfather drew it as one of his button designs.

For his 2020 and 2021 contest victories, Blake won gift certificates for himself and friends at The Oak Table Cafe and Black Bear Diner.
