Duplicate bridge clubs to resume in-person play

Sequim and Chimacum Duplicate Bridge clubs are resuming face-to-face competitions, group members announced last week.

The American Contract Bridge League-sanctioned games are open to returning members, those new to the area and those new to bridge, and no reservations are necessary.

The Sequim Duplicate Bridge Club meets 12:30-4 p.m. on Fridays at the Masonic Lodge 213, 700 S. Fifth Ave., starting May 27. Proof of COVID vaccination is required. Masks are optional. The club will provide masks. (Note: When playing at a table with a masked player, the masked player may at their discretion require all players at the table to wear masks for that round.)

No fee will be collected for play through June. Starting in July a fee will be required, with the amount to be determined based on participation rate.

For more information, contact Krys Gordon, Sequim club manager, at garygvip96@gmail.com or 360-681-4308, or Sequim club treasurer Missy Church-Smith at missycs@msn.com or 360-681-4070. Those needing a bridge partner can contact Tim Berta at jqbookwyrm@gmail.com or 360-452-4087.

The Chimacum Duplicate Bridge Club meets 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Tri Area Community Center, 10 West Valley Road, Chimacum, beginning July 5 (bring your own lunch).

No proof of vaccination is required for play and masks are optional in Chimacum at this time; however, requirements may change if state and county health policies are amended, organizers say.

The fee is $3.
