Tenebrae service set

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church — 301 E. Lopez Ave., Port Angeles – will host a reflective tenebrae service in the sanctuary at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 7, to observe Good Friday.

This service will feature special guest musician Wendy Lee, who will sing the world premiere of two original works, “John 19” and “Psalm 6” by local composer Jesse Ahmann, commissioned by the music program of Holy Trinity.

Lee will also be singing two of the most famous passion arias by J.S. Bach.

The service will feature Holy Trinity’s chancel choir led by Noah Smith. This service is themed around Jesus’ arrest, trial and suffering on the cross. It ends with Jesus’ death. The story continues on Saturday and Sunday with the Easter Services, which celebrate Jesus’ resurrection.

This service is free and open to the public; attendees are encouraged to wear black.
