Jazz benefit for Oso set

Jazz, wine and a great cause: Put them together and you have the perfect ingredients for a Thursday night to remember and that’s exactly what you’ll get on June 5 when the Peninsula College Vocal Jazz Ensemble and Olympic Cellars Winery partner to present a special Jazz for Oso Benefit Concert.

Jazz, wine and a great cause: Put them together and you have the perfect ingredients for a Thursday night to remember and that’s exactly what you’ll get on June 5 when the Peninsula College Vocal Jazz Ensemble and Olympic Cellars Winery partner to present a special Jazz for Oso Benefit Concert.

The concert, one that features the mellow voice of special guest artist Sarah Shea, will begin at 7 p.m. at Olympic Cellars Winery on U.S. Highway 101 east of Port Angeles.

Admission is free but all donations will be given to the Oso relief efforts.

Peninsula College Vocal Jazz Ensemble students who will be performing include Derrick Akin, Gabe Bagno, Misha Casella-Blackburn, Justin Bradley, Daniel Camper, Kaitlen Crippin, Brandi Larson, Tyler Napiontek, Jordyn Owen, Izzie Quintana, Jessie Spicher and Marissa Wilson, all of Port Angeles; Lavee Hess and Nancy Webb of Sequim; and Donna Marklund of Port Townsend.

The singers will be accompanied by Al Harris on piano, Taylor Ackley on bass and Terry Smith on drums.

The group is directed by Elaine Gardner-Morales.
