Local artists prep ‘Small Treasures’ for exhibition

Art quilts, hand-felted pieces, small sculptures and wearable art by Sequim, Port Angeles, Port Townsend, Port Hadlock and Port Ludlow artists are among the 44 pieces of textile art that will fill the A. Milligan Gallery, 520 N. Sequim Ave., for an exhibit from May 3-June 23.

The “Small Treasures” exhibit was created by 15 members of Peninsula Fiber Artists. Several of them will be at the gallery during the First Friday Art Walk Sequim from 5-8 p.m. on May 3 and on June 7 discuss their pieces. The artwork will be available for purchase.

Participating artists from Sequim include Lora Armstrong, Linda Carlson, Liisa Fagerlund and Marla Varner. Port Angeles artists include Evette Allerdings and Barbara Houshmand. From Port Townsend are Caryl Bryer Fallert-Gentry, Pat Herkal, Kindy Kemp, Cynthia LeRouge, Debra E. Olson, Susan Sawatzky and Cathie Wier. Also participating are Larkin Van Horn from Port Hadlock and Lori Goddard of Port Ludlow.
