Olympic Theatre Arts continues its performing arts contribution to First Friday Art Walk with “An Unusual Evening in Sequim — Tales from the Sequimish” on May 2.

May’s unusual evening features original stories written and read by four local writers: Howard Chadwick, Tim Wheeler, Doug Mcinnes and Heidi Hansen.

In addition, special guest Joe Borden, who has worked on the Irrigation Festival for 19 years, will be interviewed live on stage to answer the question, “So why does Sequim have an Irrigation Festival anyway?”

“‘Tales from the Sequimish’ are stories you won’t hear anywhere else,” says Sharon DeLaBarre, Olympic Theatre Arts board member. “Sequim has a wealth of talent. OTA’s An Unusual Evening in Sequim series provides the stage for that local talent to shine. Our only rules are that what we present will be original work and tell stories through the performing arts.”

“An Unusual Evening in Sequim” begins at 6 p.m. in the Gathering Hall at Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave. “Brilliant Traces,” this season’s fourth Main Stage production, starts at 7:30 p.m. on the Main Stage.
