PA Players stage a holiday whodunnit

‘The Game’s Afoot, or Holmes for the Holidays’ starts Friday, Nov. 20

A murder mystery falls to a Broadway star to solve in The Port Angeles Community Players’ latest show “The Game’s Afoot, or Holmes For the Holidays” by Ken Ludwig.

Set at Christmastime 1936, William Gillette (played by Pete Christensen), known for his iconic portrayal of Sherlock Holmes on stage, invites cast members to his Connecticut castle for the weekend.

Soon thereafter a guest is stabbed to death and it’s up to Gillette to put on Holmes’ thinking cap and track down the killer.

Cast members are Pete Christensen, Kathleen Hussey, Brian Wendt, Danielle Lorentzen, John Dixon, Kristin Ulsund, Linda Cameron and Lynne Murphy with Kathleen Balducci directing.

“The Game’s Afoot” opens at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, with more showings at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21, 24, 27-28, Dec. 1, 4-5, and on Sundays at 2 p.m. Nov. 22, 29 and Dec. 6 at the Port Angeles Community Playhouse, 1235 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

Tickets are $14 for adults, $7 for students with Tuesday’s reserved seats $14 or $7 for festival seating at the door. Advance tickets available at Odyssey Bookshop.
