Registration opens for River Center’s Kid’s summer camps

Registration is open for the remainder of the Dungeness River River Center’s summer day camps for children ages 8-14.

Designed for youths of ages 8-12, “Girls in the Outdoors” is a full day in various sites on the Dungeness River, July 19-22. It includes navigation using maps and compasses, and how to think like a scientist while observing plants and animals in their natural setting, and adventuring with a trusted guide.

“Dirty Tires” Bike Camp, for ages 9-14, a half day of skill building on mountain bikes — pedaling through obstacles, proper braking, and how to handle a fall — set for Aug. 2-4.

“Farewell to Summer,” designed for ages 8-12, concludes the series with a full day of exploration on the lower Dungeness with hands-on science, adventure, games, hikes and water play from Aug. 23-26.

Cost ranges from $100-$150 per camp.
