Sequim Wheelers seeking support in Give 65 fundraiser

The wheels on this fundraiser keep going round and round.

Once again, Sequim Wheelers — an organization dedicated to offering rides to fellow citizens with mobility issues — has teamed up with Home Instead Charity Foundation and Home Instead Sequim Give 65 Fundraising event.

The foundation is offering matching funds during the organization’s Give 65 online fundraising event, set for Tuesday, July 11, starting at 6 a.m., and running through 11 p.m. Friday, July 14.

Sequim Wheelers are eligible to receive up to $5,000 in matching grants. To donate, go to give65.org/Sequim_Wheelers.

In the past two years, the fundraiser has helped raise more than $12,000 for the Sequim nonprofit.

This will be the last year the foundation will be organizing this fundraising event, Sequim Wheelers founder Nicole Lepping noted, so she hopes to see a strong turnout.

Funds raised will go toward ongoing costs such as commercial liability insurance, bike maintenance and eventually new bikes.

“Your generous support enables us to give adaptive bike rides, to those that can no longer bike themselves, on the beautiful Olympic Discovery Trail,” Lepping said.
