Sweet symphony sounds

The Port Angeles Symphony presents a bed and breakfast self-guided chocolate tasting tour, “Music and Chocolate,” from noon-4 p.m. Saturday, April 30. The tour includes seven different bed and breakfasts in Sequim and Port Angeles. Vendors provide prepackaged samples of their chocolate creations while musicians from the Port Angeles Symphony play.

Tickets are $20 per person, with a schedule provided upon purchase. There will be no more than 20 people touring each bed and breakfast at a time.

LaNice Korus, tour creator, said the event is a win-win for all participants.

“We’re letting more people know about restaurants, bed and breakfasts and the symphony,” Korus said. “Seems like a lot of people feel this is a great idea.”

She said ticket buyers so far are a mixture of symphony supporters and the general public.

“We hope to gain some new people for the symphony while showcasing some of our players and our youths who played for us,” Korus said. “People are talking about next year, so I guess we’re already going to do it again,” she said.

Chocolate vendors include Alder Wood Bistro, Bistro at the Lodge, Bushwacker Restaurant, The Buzz, Cameron’s Cafe & Caterers, C’est Si Bon, Cedar Creek, Chocolate Serenade, Cocoa d’Amici candies by Linda Moat, Double Eagle, Garden Bistro, Lippert’s, Northwest Fudge Co., Old Mill Cafe, Raindrop Desserts and Yvonne’s Candies.

Chocolates are prepackaged so the hosts don’t have to clean up, Korus said.

Bagley Creek Road, Port Angeles; Eden by the Sea, 1027 Finn Hall Road, Port Angeles; George Washington Inn, 939 Finn Hall Road, Port Angeles; and Sea Cliff Gardens, 397 Monterra Drive, Port Angeles.
