Backyard Birding series

Olympic Peninsula Audubon Society will present “Backyard Bird Population Trends” with OPAS president Matt McCoy from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 3 at the Dungeness River Nature Center, 1943 W. Hendrickson Rd.

Suggested donation is $5.

McCoy explores bird population trends evidenced in Bob Boekelheide’s data of the “Top 24” species visiting Olympic Peninsula backyards.

Shuttle and Spindle meeting

The North Olympic Shuttle and Spindle Guild hosts its next meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at the Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 1033 N. Barr Rd. in Port Angeles. Karen Sixkiller, a contemporary Cherokee artist, presents the program “Slave to the Needle.”
