‘Be a sweetheart’ for a good cause

Olympic Peninsula residents will get a chance to put on gowns and tuxes and dance the night away on Feb. 9, when a handful of area bands will share their talents.

The “Be a Sweetheart Ball,” sponsored by Carol Hathaway and Jeff Stauffer, promises to be a fancy affair, complete with an appetizer buffet and an evening of dancing and socializing. The event including music from Jazz in Blume and the vocal talents of Chuck Darland, is a fundraiser for the Jazz in the Olympics Society Youth Jazz Band. The Olympic Dixielanders, will also make a guest appearance.

“It’s going to be a good night and it’s for a wonderful cause,” said JITOS youth program director Bud Critchfield.

To reserve a spot at the ball, which is 7-11 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Port Angeles Eagles Club, e-mail carolha@olypen.com or call 452-2757.
