Hallett completes degree program
James D. Hallett, a Port Angeles resident and columnist for the Sequim Gazette, completed a Master of Science degree in financial planning at the College for Financial Planning in Denver.
Hallett, an investment advisor representative, offers investment advisory services through Hallett & Associates, P.S., an SEC-Registered Investment Advisor.
He also is a certified financial planner, accredited investment fiduciary analyst, chartered financial consultant, chartered life underwriter and a certified divorce financial analyst.
His column for the Gazette appears twice each month.
Association leaders attended workshop
FaLeana Wech and Clair Kirkman attended the Stronger Business Initiative Advertising Workshop, facilitated by Blake Messer in collaboration with Forks Radio, on Sept. 1 at the Red Lion Hotel in Port Angeles.
Wech recently was appointed executive officer and government affairs director for the North Peninsula Building Association.
Kirkman, member services director, is responsible for membership, events and education opportunities for association members.
The North Peninsula Building Association is a membership organization representing businesses related to the building industry, which sponsors the Future Builders program in partnership with the Port Angeles School District and Peninsula College. Call 452-8160.

recipients named
Clallam County treasurer Judith A. Scott, chief deputy treasurer Teresa Marchi and investment officer Jill Colvin received the Professional Finance Officer Award for 2009 from the Washington Finance Officers’ Association, a professional association of finance officers from towns, cities, counties, the state and other government units in Washington.
The annual award recognizes achievements of professional service and ongoing continuing education and training.
