Taiz? service

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim, hosts a Taiz? service at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27.

A Taiz? service includes candles, silence and short simple songs, which are repeated many times and become prayers in themselves. Call 683-4862.

Sparks speaks at fellowship

J. Gary Sparks speaks about “The Heart of a Scientist: An Atomic Physicist’s Ordeal of Matter and Meaning” at a lecture and discussion 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 2333 San Juan Ave., Port Townsend.

Sparks also speaks about “Synchronicity in Thought and Deed” at a workshop scheduled 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, and “The Shadow Side of God” at the 9:15 a.m and 11:15 a.m. services Sunday, Oct. 24.

Costs are $10 for the lecture and $50 for the workshop at the door. Advance registration for both events is $45.
