Sequim congregation expands

A new congregation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was officially established in Sequim on Sunday, Oct. 26. Now there are three units of the church in Sequim: The Dungeness Ward, the Sequim Bay Ward, and the Happy Valley Ward. All Sequim changes are a result of weeks of prayerful consideration, and President Richard Butchart conducted the business of making the changes on the historic occasion.

Continuing to serve as bishop, Steven Holloway has been named to the redistricted Happy Valley Road Ward. The Sequim Bay Ward bishop is Jerold Malmrose. Continuing as a bishop, James Heinz has been named to oversee the Dungeness Ward. Each bishop is organized with his two counselors, a ward mission leader, high priest group leaders, an Elders Quorum presidency, and various auxiliaries.
