Group seeks funds for Protection Island memorial

Members of the Admiralty Audubon Society in Port Townsend are collecting funds for a memorial to Eleanor Stopps, a key figure in establishing Protection Island as a wildlife refuge in the late 1970s.

A memorial sculpture in her honor would be displayed in Port Townsend. See http://eleanorstopps.blogspot.com. Stopps died of cancer in 2012 at age 92.

 

Donations by check may be made out to the Admiralty Audubon Memorial Fund or also may be sent directly to First Federal, PO Box 1510, Port Townsend WA 98368.
