Irrigation royalty pageant set for Saturday

Four Sequim girls vie for the queen’s crown at the Irrigation Festival’s Scholarship Pageant this weekend.

Katherine Gould, Ellie Turner, Isabella Williams and Lauren Willis share their creative displays, platforms, answer questions and more at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, in Sequim High School’s Auditorium, 533 N. Sequim Ave.

Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. Buy tickets at the door, Sequim Avenue First Federal and from contestants. Masks required inside the event.

For the pageant, Gould will share her creative display of acrylic painting, Turner will demonstrate how to use a fire extinguisher, Williams will sing a Sequim parody of “Can’t take My Eyes off of You” and Willis talks about her YouTube channel.

This will be the first live pageant since 2020. Royalty will represent Sequim for the festival’s 127th year after practicing for months at the Shipley Center.
