Learn about transition services for youths with special needs

Clallam County Parent to Parent is hosting a free virtual “Transition Services” seminar at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 29, via Zoom.

Transition services refers to a team effort providing support and guidance to students with disabilities as they prepare to transition from high school to the work place and adult life.

Clallam County schools work with the Olympic Educational Service District 114 (OESD) to provide key services and unique support through special education services.

Parents will learn: who should be on their child’s transition team; what age to begin services, and whether or not transition services support their child’s interests and abilities.

Sharing information, and discussing services available will several presenters from the OESD 114: Melanie Garrett, Assistant Director of Special Services; Mandy Gaskill, special services occupational therapy assistant, and registered behavior technician Molly Grade.
