Movimiento Evangelistico Agua de Vida

Spiritual Spotlight

Pastors at Movimiento Evangelistico Agua de Vida "Water of Life Evangelistic Movement" say their goal is to preach the word of God and bring the gospel to all people.

"Our belief in the power of prayer is inspirational in our congregation, said Pastor Jose Laboy.

"Many people have come to our church with personal problems, illness and needing spiritual cleansing. We have prayed for many people and have seen changes and results because we are a church full of faith."

They believe strongly in Matthew 21:22, "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."

"We encourage anyone with tribulation and problems in their life to not give up but to look for the Lord and trust in him," Laboy said.

Church history

Laboy and his wife Olidia have served in ministry in Sequim since 2001.

He has served as a pastor for 28 years.

His family founded the Movimiento Evangelistico Agua de Vida in 2005.

Their children Dennis and Teddy help with worship services.

"It has been wonderful to have a great family bond," Laboy said.

"Teddy and my wife take part in playing guitar and vocals, and Dennis and myself take part in keyboard, with Dennis playing the bass and drums at times," Laboy said.

Church leaders describe service music as a mix of mostly fast, energetic songs with some slow meditation songs.

Other church members help with worship services, too.

"We are a very interactive church and enjoy developing our church members’ hidden talents all while praising the Lord," Laboy said.

"We truly rejoice here and although we are few in number, we truly believe and have faith in the Lord."
