First Book-Clallam County announces that 2,500 new books have been given to nine literacy programs that serve Clallam County children in need. Programs include Lower Elwha Head Start, Quileute Tribal School, Parenting Matters, Serenity House, Forks Elementary Bilingual, Lutheran Community Services, Quileute Tribal Child Care and First Step Center.
Some local children were protected from the recent cold spell by coats donated by the Knights of Columbus from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sequim.
