Park cancels tonight’s Park Perspectives Series presentation

Tonight's Olympic National Park Perspectives Series talk on "The Role of Science and Technology in Managing Pacific Salmonids in Olympic National Park" is canceled. The presenter has taken ill and event organizers have been unable to find a replacement.

The Feb. 10 Olympic National Park Perspectives Series talk on “The Role of Science and Technology in Managing Pacific Salmonids in Olympic National Park” is canceled. The presenter has taken ill and event organizers have been unable to find a replacement.

Perspectives programs are held the second Tuesday of each month from November through April and are co-sponsored by the Friends of Olympic National Park.

Programs are free and open to the public. They begin at 7 p.m. at the Olympic National Park Visitor Center, 3002 Mount Angeles Road, Port Angeles.

Blue Glacier: Past, Present and Future

Climate change since the Little Ice Age has caused shrinkage of alpine glaciers worldwide. Blue Glacier is no exception. The University of Washington has conducted research on Blue Glacier since 1957. This record of change is one of the longest for any glacier in North America.
