As an expression of their commitment to supporting the Peninsula Trails Coalition and its work to complete the Olympic Discovery Trail, all seven north Peninsula Bike Shops are offering their support by donating to PTC all tune-up labor charges during their regular open hours on Friday-Saturday, April 10-11.

The shops will donate the value of their labor to PTC, which in turn will use the funds to support its wide range of volunteer trail maintenance activities, work projects, and trail expansion advocacy.

The event offers a unique opportunity that enables bike riders throughout the peninsula to provide critical support to PTC, the organization that for over 25 years has spearheaded the vision of completing the 126-mile long Olympic Discovery Trail.

The PTC encourages everybody to get ready for summer bike riding and stop by any convenient shop to have your bike(s) put into great shape.

Details regarding the donated labor charges vary slightly between the shops, especially with regard to the form of payment they can accept for these tune-ups. Contact the shop of your choice for all the information on their specific hours, labor rates, form of payment and qualifying requirements.

In some cases, the shop requires that customers specifically request inclusion in the tune-up event; be sure to check the details for the shop you intend to use.

For questions about the event, call Jeff Bohman at 457-7536.

Participating shops are Bike Garage and Sound Bikes & Kayaks, in Port Angeles; All Around Bikes and Ben’s Bikes in Sequim; The Broken Spoke, Port Townsend Cyclery and The Recyclery in Port Townsend.
