Peninsula College Foundation awards $2,000 to classified staff

The Peninsula College Foundation has announced the 2008 recipients of the Classified Staff award. This annual award, established in 2006, is available to members of the college’s classified staff on a competitive basis. The award is one way in which the foundation participates in the college’s mission of offering quality and educational opportunities that foster academic, professional, occupational and personal growth to its staff each year.

The 2008 recipients of the Classified Staff Award are:

Micki McNeil, human resources consultant, to help fund cross-cultural communication training for faculty and staff to increase diversity awareness, maximize student access, promote pluralism and cultural enrichment on campus,

Cindy Guoan, continuing education coordinator, to help fund training to develop skills in Web design, team building, communication and online business strategies with a Web presence for the Port Townsend extension site consistent with the college’s mission,

Nikki Brown, plant communications coordinator, to fund attendance for a Leadership Mastery course offered in February 2009. The project will provide training in team leadership, relationship building and interpersonal influence consistent with professional development goals.
