Local law enforcement officials last week arrested Marvin E. Branham, 48, of Port Angeles, for two counts of delivery of methamphetamine, one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and three counts of being within 1,000 feet of a school bus route or stop while committing these crimes.

On June 16, deputies from the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office, detectives from the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Bureau and the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested and booked Branham in to the Clallam County jail.

The arrest was a result of a three-month investigation into Branham’s criminal activity. It included Branham selling methamphetamine to a Sheriff’s Office informant on two occasions, Clallam County Sheriff’s Office officials said.

Branham was found with a small amount of methamphetamine on his person, officials said.

During a search of his vehicle under the authority of a search warrant, Branham was found to be in possession of about 1 pound of methamphetamine packaged in eight separate baggies, along with a scale. The street value of this methamphetamine, if sold at the cost of $100 per gram, would be in excess of $45,000, law officials said.

Branham has four previous convictions for violation of the uniform controlled substances act, Clallam County Sheriff’s Office officials said.
