Raise money for United Way at Salt Creek event

United Way of Clallam County is partnering with Peninsula Adventure Sports to offer a new way to participate in the Salt Creek 24-hour event set for March 21-22, held at the Salt Creek Recreation Area just west of Port Angeles

Walkers and runners — solo or as a relay team — can now join the “Salt Creek 24 Hours of Giving” to fundraise for one of United Way’s 25 Partner Agencies.

Complete as many loops as possible around recreation area in 24 hours. People can sign up as a solo participant or join a team of two or more. Runners and walkers get all the food and drinks they might want during the 24-hour period, plus a pancake breakfast when the clock stops on Sunday morning. This includes hot food specialty hours such as “bacon hour” and “mashed potato madness.”

Each registered participant receives a custom Salt Creek 24 piece of swag, a chance to win prizes, a poker run at midnight, automatic loop timing, published results and more.

The more participants fundraise, the less they pay in registration fees (normally $85 per person); see www.webscorer.com/register?raceid=208454 for registration fee details and more.

Ten percent of registration fees goes directly to Untied Way.

“Offering a fundraising option for the new Salt Creek 24 event really enriches the event, and I’m really excited to partner with the United Way,” race director Lorrie Mittmann. said. “Walkers and runners will have a fantastic time while also helping the community.”
