Sarge’s Place is the recipient of a 2001 Yukon from the Sequim Sunrise Rotary.

The vehicle will be used to transport homeless veterans residing at Sarge’s Place in Forks to the Seattle Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital, Tacoma American Lakes VA Hospital as well as medical and dental appointments within Port Angeles and Forks.

“This rig allows us the flexibility to pick up veterans, move them into permanent housing, and drive them to their required medical appointments. We are absolutely thrilled by this donation,” said Cheri Tinker, director of Sarge’s Place.

“If it were not for Bryce Fish, a Sequim Rotarian, seeking out to find the right vehicle, putting Sarge’s Place and Rotary signage on the side of the rig, this would have never happened,” Tinker said.

Sarge’s Place, a transitional housing project for homeless veterans located in Forks, outreaches to veterans living throughout Clallam and Jefferson counties, serving men and women that have been honorably discharged from the nation’s military.
