Sons of Italy seek to award scholarship
The local chapter of the Order of the Sons of Italy in America invites applications for the Elena Buonpane Memorial Scholarship to assist students with an Italian heritage or students interested in Italian culture to further their education.
A scholarship will be awarded for the academic school year of 2011-2012 to be used at any college or technical school of the student’s choice. Application deadline is May 7.

Soroptimists seek applicants for award
Soroptimist International of Sequim is accepting applications for its annual vocational/technical award.
The $1,000 award is given to a female student enrolled in a nondegree program leading to a certificate or license.
To be eligible for this award, the applicant must reside in the Sequim School District or be a graduate of Sequim High School.
Applications must be received by May 15.
