Sequim High hosts Career Day

Sequim High School, in partnership with Rotary Club of Sequim and Sequim Sunrise Rotary, hosts a Career Day, open to all Sequim High School students, from 8:15-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 1.

Keynote speaker for the day is Chris Widener, a specialist in personal development and leadership from Issaquah. A businessman, author, speaker and television host, Widener has produced articles, books, CDs and DVDs about leadership, motivation and success.

Career director Mitzi Sanders used information from a survey of students’ top career choices to seek out local community members to serve as presenters. About 75 speakers representing some 40 careers augment the keynote speaker at breakout sessions. Students will select three 40-minute sessions to receive first-hand information about careers that interest them.

The most recent Career Day at Sequim High School was in 2004.

Organizers of this event are Sanders and Sara Maloney, president of Rotary Club of Sequim.
