State Patrol troopers are seeking a vehicle that struck a pedestrian on Friday, Jan. 15, at U.S. Highway 101 and Larch Road.

The incident is being investigated as a hit-and-run, Trooper Russ Winger, Washington State Patrol public information officer, said on Jan. 16.

According to the state patrol, Alisha L. Wollum, 25, of Sequim, was taken to Olympic Medical Center after the collision at 5:52 p.m. Friday.

On Saturday, Wollum was not listed as a patient at OMC. She survived the incident, Winger said Saturday.

The State Patrol said an unknown vehicle traveling southbound on Larch Avenue, across from Mount Pleasant Road, made a left turn into the eastbound lane of U.S. Highway 101 and struck Wollum.

Troopers said Wollum was crossing Highway 101 from north to south in the crosswalk against the traffic light.

All lanes of the highway were closed for about an hour with a detour in place.

Traffic approaching the collision in the westbound lanes were backed up as far as Deer Park Road, which is two miles away from the where the incident happened, witnesses said.

The State Patrol is investigating and is seeking a description of the vehicle that struck Wollum.

Anyone with information about the vehicle is asked to call the State Patrol at 473-0300.
