Sixteen-year-old Jaron is a junior at Sequim High School and has been a proud member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula for the past four years. In that time, he has become a shining example of dedication, perseverance, and community spirit.
Jaron’s commitment to his Club family has always run deep — so deep, in fact, that before he had consistent transportation, he regularly walked several miles just to be part of the place he loves. Even when he broke his foot, his biggest concern was still getting to the Club, and he didn’t hesitate to ask for a ride so he wouldn’t miss out on the support, friendship, and opportunities waiting for him there.
Thanks to a generous community supporter, Jaron now has an electric bike that helps him arrive safely and reliably each day. And he doesn’t waste a minute of the time he spends at the Club. A new member of the Keystone leadership group, Jaron is always ready to lend a hand — whether he’s helping staff, mentoring younger members, or offering support wherever a need appears. His reliability and kindness have made him an essential part of the teen room, where he’s known for being uplifting, encouraging, and genuinely supportive of his peers.
Outside the Club, Jaron works at McDonald’s, balancing school, employment, and service with maturity beyond his years. He is also impressively tech-savvy. Currently, he is diving deep into electronics, building his own custom headphones from scratch. He works on the project at home and brings it to the Club to continue learning, tinkering, and sharing his progress with others.
Jaron’s passion, positivity, and determination inspire everyone around him. His story is a powerful reminder of how dedication and community can help young people thrive — and why Sequim is proud to call him this month’s Sequim Super Kid.
