Sequim’s Wolf Pack, Timberwolf days ahead

With the start of school less than a month away, students and teachers are gearing up for another school year.

For Sequim Middle School and Sequim High School students, Timberwolf and Wolf Pack days help make that first day a lot less crazy.

Wolf Pack Days

Sequim High School students can prepare for the 2010-2011 school year on Thursday, Aug. 19, and Friday, Aug. 20.

Wolf Pack Days are when students can pick up schedules (if all fines are cleared), pay fees or fines, get school pictures taken (for school identification and Associated Student Body cards and yearbook), get parking permits, sign up for lockers and more.

All students, even Running Start students, are required to have a photo ID taken whether they wish to purchase school photos or not.

Seniors, juniors and sophomores are scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 19. Seniors and juniors are asked to attend Wolf Pack Days from 8-11 a.m. that day, with sophomores slated for noon-3 p.m.

Freshmen are scheduled for Friday, Aug. 20. Ninth-graders with last names starting with A-K are scheduled for 8-11 a.m. while those with last names starting with L-Z are scheduled for noon-3 p.m.

Sequim High School sweatshirts are on sale during Wolf Pack days for all students and parents. Sweatshirts are $40 and are available in adult unisex sizes small through XXXL.

From 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sept. 7, the day before school starts, Sequim High School’s Link Crew members give freshmen a school orientation, showing them the campus, doing relationship-building games and more. The event starts in the gym.

Students also can order or pick up a Timberwolf sweatshirt.

Students with last names starting with A-K are scheduled for 2:30-6:30 p.m. on Aug. 25 while students with last names starting with L-Z meet from 2:30-6:30 p.m. the following day.

ASB fundraiser: reserved parking

This fundraising drive has students picking paints for parking.

Students at Sequim High School can buy and decorate a reserved parking space in the high school’s main parking lot on Sequim Avenue for the entire school year.

Parking spaces are sold to high school seniors during Wolf Pack Days (Aug. 19-20) for $25 each, including the cost of the permit.

Spaces open up to underclassmen on Monday, Aug. 23.

At the time of purchase, students also can buy a $5 ticket to celebrate the beginning of the school year with a parking space painting party and barbecue from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7.
