Weekly story times at the Sequim Library will resume Wednesday, Jan. 7.

Toddler story time will recur at 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday and is recommended for children between the ages 18 months and 3 years old.

Preschool story time will take place at 11:30 a.m. every Wednesday and is recommended for children between the ages of 3-5.

Baby story time, scheduled every Thursday at 11 a.m., will resume Jan. 8.

This program features action songs, fingerplays and nursery rhymes for babies with time for parents and caregivers to meet and visit following each session.

All story times feature age-appropriate books, fingerplays, rhymes and action songs, often with a simple craft for children to take home.

A love of reading and books is one of the most precious gifts a child will receive.

Library story times create critically important learning opportunities for young children and their parents or caregivers, program organizers say.

Young children who become regular library users will benefit from the early literacy experiences offered at programs like story time, which help develop the communication and social skills needed when preparing to enter school.
