A 78-year-old man rescued from the sinking debris of his 40-foot boat last night is in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center. According to a Harborview media representative, Keith Bryant is in the intensive care unit at the Seattle hospital.
Patrick Young, public information officer for Clallam County Fire District 3, said the man suffered burns, back injuries and possible fractured bones in the blast.
Investigators believe the explosion at John Wayne Marina was caused by a propane tank, Sequim Police Sgt. Sean Madison said.
The U.S. Coast Guard is supervising salvage and oil cleanup operations at the site today.
