Imani Smith led four Pirates in double figures as Peninsula routed the Treasure Valley Chukars 71-55 on March 5.

Cierra Moss had 13 points, Jenise McKnight and Anaya Rodisha had 10 points each, and Northern Region Defensive Player of the Year Zhara Laster had three steals and seven rebounds in the victory.

Now ranked No. 3, PC moves on to play No. 2-ranked Umpqua (24-6) at 10 a.m. on March 10, with the winner taking on either No. 4 Spokane or No. 8 Lower Columbia in the semifinals the next day.

On the men’s side, Bradley Branch led a balanced Chemeketa attack with 13 points as the Storm upset No. 2-ranked Peninsula 69-63 in Port Angeles on March 5.

North Region MVP Ryley Callaghan had 16 points and Darrion Daniels added 19 off the bench for Peninsula, but the Pirates saw a 37-33 halftime lead evaporate to the unranked Chemeketa squad.

The Pirates struggled (4-for-20) from 3-point range, missing all long-range attempts in the second half.
