Mia Coffman posted a pair of first place swims to lead the Wolves, swimming the 200 free in 2:08.41 — less than three seconds off a state meet-qualifying time — as well as winning the 500 free in 5:47.

Teammate Sydney Swanson posted a pair of district meet qualifying times, placing second overall in the 500 yard freestyle with a 6:30 and second overall in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:21.

Swanson and Coffman joined with Petra Bernsten and Eislynn Flood to win the 200 free relay in 2:03.

Francesca Bargis dropped a half-second in her 100 yard backstroke with a district qualifying time of 1:14. Morgan Cariou dropped one second in her 100 yard butterfly and took third overall (1:23) and teammate Lauren Sundin was second overall (1:19) in the same race.

Looking ahead

The Wolves swim in the Divisional Invitational (Last Chance Meet) in Silverdale on Friday, Oct. 25.

The West Central District meet is set for Nov. 8-9 at Hazen High School in Renton.

Sequim has qualified individuals and relays in 11 of 12 district meet events.

Top qualifying swimmers (by time or district meet finishes) qualify for the state 2A finals, set for Nov. 15-16 at the King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way.
