SMS wrestling hosts fundraiser for gear at Black Bear Diner

Sequim Middle School wrestlers look to raise funds for some new gear this season and next with a Dine to Donate event at Sequim Black Bear Diner, 1471 E. Washington St.

Organizers say 15 percent of sales from 8-11 a.m. and 3-6 p.m. on Monday, March 12, help coaches and volunteers purchase student uniforms, head gear, mats, disinfectant, shoes and more.

Sequim coach Rich Hay said 43 students in grades 6-8 compete including 15 girls who also require specialty gear such as uniforms and hair caps.

The squad’s season goes through March 21 with a season-ending tournament at Port Angeles High School. For more information on the Dine to Donate event, call 360-504-2950. For more information on the wrestling program, call Sequim Middle School at 360-582-3500.
