Hoops camp set for PA, Cedars hosts championships, and duathlon set for Sunday.

Hoops camp set

Chris Hyppa and cohorts bring back the CHB Elite Camp, a basketball clinic for boys and girls in grades 5-12, on Friday, Sept. 9 (5-8 p.m.) and Saturday, Sept. 10 (4-7 p.m.).

The camp is at Peninsula College, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.

Cost is $125 per player, with a 40-participant maximum. Players are asked to bring a basketball and small lunch with them.

Men’s Club sets championship

The Cedars at Dungeness Men’s Club hosts its Men’s Club Championship Aug. 15, 17 and 19, with the champion crowned at 4 p.m. on Aug. 19.

The 54-hole tournament has a $35 entry fee for early registration, $40 after Aug. 13.

All Men’s Club members who have a valid handicap and have been a member of the Men’s Club at least 30 days as of Aug. 15 are eligible.

Duathlon, 5k set for Sunday

The first Great Northwest Duathlon and 5K is slated for a 9 a.m. start time on Sunday, Aug. 14, at 72 Lotzgesell Road in Sequim.

The duathlon starts with a 5-kilometer run,  a 21.6 mile-bike ride and finishes with another 5-kilometer run back to the start/finish line. Those not up for a duathlon are invited to join races for a 5k run/walk for all ages and levels of ability on the same course as the duathlon course.

Cost for duathlon individual $75, $40 per person on teams. For the 5K run/walk, cost is $30.
