Anglers set meeting

The featured speaker at the next Puget Sound Anglers-North Olympic Peninsula Chapter meeting on Thursday, Nov. 15, is Lorenz Sollmann, Deputy Project Leader for the Washington Maritime National Wildlife Refuge Complex.

Sollmann is the project leader on the study and trapping of the invasive green crab. Meeting attendees are invited to hear the latest information and how this little crab may affect area crabbing at 6:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave.

The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. for viewing the raffle prizes and fish stories. Sollmann’s presentation starts at 7 p.m., followed by a business meeting that includes a financial report, government relations report, upcoming events discussions and fishing reports from members. Also on tap are refreshments, a raffle and a membership drawing.

The anglers group reports that they have stocked the pond at Carrie Blake Community Park with another 200 fish, added to the pond of area youth to fish for this fall.

The public is invited. The club meets the third Thursday of each month.

Fly fishers to meet

The next meeting of the Sequim Greywolf Fly Fishers is from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the Masonic Lodge, 700 S. Fifth Ave. There will be a brief business meeting followed by fishing reports on local lakes and favorite flies that successfully catch fish. The group will also discuss the 2019 group meetings and activities.

The remainder of the meeting is reserved for individual fly-tying. Participants may tie a fly of their choice (bring fly-tying equipment and materials) or observe this month’s tying event. There will also be a fly raffle and discussion about recent fishing adventures.
