Picklers reach fall league championships

The Sequim Picklers Fall League concluded recently with four division champions being awarded titles.

• Level 4.0 champions — Steve Bennett, Arvo Johnson

• Level 3.5 — Tricia Stratton, Sandi Gunn

• Level 3.0 — Rich Bemm, Katinka Nanna

• Level 2.5 — Mike Hall, Christy Marazon

• Most Improved — Glenn and Cathy Hathaway

The fall league, held Oct. 1-Nov. 4, was played indoors at the Sequim Boys &Girls Club. League director was Ben Sanders. Commissioner/scorer was Margie Rone.

Dryfhout gets ace No. 5

Karl Dryfhout of Sequim sank his fifth lifetime hole-in-one last week, acing hole No. 17 at The Cedars at Dungeness. Dryfhout used a 5-iron to drive the 148-yard hole. Jim Chamberlin, Pat Covey, Ron Fye and David Hume witnessed the feat.

Volleyball league starts Nov. 10

The Peninsula Volleyball League opens its 22nd season Thursday, Nov. 10, at Peninsula College.

The adult coed league for intermediate or advanced volleyball players runs from Nov. 10 through February. Team fees are $300. There is no player fee.

Matches are played Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. at the college.
