The SunLand Women’s Golf Association (SWGA) held its final meeting of the year recently, naming new officers and distributing season awards.

Officers for the 2014 season were unanimously elected as follows: Captain-Judy Nordyke; Assistant Captain-Nonie Dunphy, Secretary-Barb Evans, and Treasurer-Patricia Palmeri. The appointed officers are: Handicap Chair-Dorene Berard; Rules Chair-Ruth Lowe and Past Captain-Sherry Meythaler.

Awards were given to Janet Littlefield for Most Improved Golfer, Jan Prout for playing the most games, Alice Myers for the most birdies (five), Cheryl Coulter for getting an eagle, and Eileen Larsen for breaking 100 for the first time.

The 2013 Ringer (lowest score on each hole totaled over the season) winners were announced as follows: Red Tee Flight No. 1, Gross: 1. (tie) Cheryl Coulter, Judy Nordyke and Witta Priester. Net: 1. Cecil Black, 2. Ruth Lowe; Red Tee Flight No. 2, Gross: 1. (tie) Dorene Berard and Alice Myers, Net: 1. Jan Prout, 2. Janet Real. Silver Tee Flight, Gross: 1. Nadia Saulsbury, 2. Nancy Harlan; Net: 1. Effie Bentley, 2. Janet Littlefield.
