Women’s soccer: Peninsula blanks Rangers, stay perfect in NWAACC

Friendly confines? You bet.

Peninsula’s women feel right at home at Sigmar Field and showed it Wednesday, knocking off the upset-minded Olympic Rangers 2-0, getting a score in each half.

Bri Afoa tallied a penalty kick score at the 12-minute mark and Annie Armstrong added a score at 62 minutes off a Bronte Fitzsimmons assist. The feed was Fitzsimmons’ conference-leading 14th assist of the season.

Pirate Laura Morgan had three saves in goal for the shutout.

 

The Pirates outshot Olympic, 23-3.

Peninsula is at Bellevue on Oct. 12.
