Amazing Maize Maze

It’s a cowboy theme at Sequim’s Pumpkin Patch this year, as seen here in an aerial photo. The 33-acre farm hosts numerous activities each year and 2010 is no different, with hayrides, horseback rides, mazes and more planned. The patch is open from 9 a.m. until dark on weekdays, plus evening maze adventures on Fridays and Saturdays, through Halloween. The 6.5-acre cornfield maze above features a cowboy boot and spur, and “yee haw” exclamation as a kicker; entry is $7 for youths 12 and younger, $10 for ages 13 and older. The farm also features horseback rides ($5 each), a pumpkin shoot (launch three pumpkins for $5, for a chance at a $100 prize), a straw maze for youths ($5 each youth for unlimited entry, adults free) and new to the farm this year, the “Hack Shack,” a haunted house-style building ($3 for entry). The farm features U-pick pumpkins and can accommodate field trips and birthday parties. For more information, contact farm owner Theresa Lassila at 461-0940. Photo by David Woodcock
