United Way of Clallam County kicks off its Great Beginnings Early Learning Initiative by accepting applications for funding from local nonprofit organizations that provide educational opportunities and support services for parents/caregivers of children from birth to 1-year-old.
Being ready for school at age 5 is critical to a child’s success in school and in life and parents are their children’s first teachers. Year One of the Great Beginnings Initiative will focus on increasing skills of parents and other primary child caregivers.
For a request for proposal, applications and Great Beginnings Action Plan, call the United Way office at 457-3011, e-mail info@unitedwayclallam.org or download the forms from www.unitedwayclallam.org.
Attendance at a bidders conference is required at 4 p.m. today, Oct. 5, in the Wendel Room at Olympic Medical Center, 939 Caroline St., Port Angeles. Completed applications are due in the United Way office (by e-mail or mail to 102½ E. First Street, P. O. Box 937, Port Angeles) Wednesday, Nov. 2.
