Bucket brigade stops SUV fire

A four-door SUV caught fire Monday, Nov. 15, off West Anderson Road near the Dungeness Recreation Area.

Ten firefighters from Clallam County Fire District 3 responded. An elderly man apparently drove the SUV off the main road and got stuck beyond where the firefighters were able to go with fire trucks.

The fire crew used a bucket brigade and extinguished the fire.

The driver was not injured but might have been ill; he was transported to Olympic Memorial Hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
