Christmas in Mexico

Kindergarten, first- and second-grade students at Queen of Angles School in Port Angeles celebrated “Christmas in Mexico” with Las Posadas by knocking on the doors of classrooms dressed as Mary, Joseph, angels and shepherds. Each class turned the travelers away, representing the nine nights of Las Posadas, until the last room where the travelers were welcomed with a party and a piñata. Children also made tissue paper flowers, poinsettias and tortillas, learning about the legend of the poinsettia.
